Battery Storage

Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) are highly recommended to partner with solar installations. They allow excess generation to be stored and used later in the day or in the week. This has 2 key benefits:

1. Being able to store the excess energy means you don’t need to sell it back to the grid during the day at low rates only to pay for energy in the evening at much higher rates.

2. During the winter months when the solar generation may not be enough to meet demand, batteries can be set to charge overnight at cheaper tariffs. This then allows you to use this cheaper energy during the day without having to pay for the higher tariffs.
